Welcome To
Frampton Family Riding Club
The committee of Frampton Family Riding Club would like to welcome you to our web site and we would like to introduce you to the club.
We consider ourselves to be a very friendly club and are welcoming to both new and old members.
Instruction – We run sessions of riding instruction, at all levels, throughout the year. During the winter, from October until March, we hold Rallies at at an indoor venue in Haresfield. These take place on Saturdays, Sundays and weekday days and evenings. During the summer the instruction is more themed and sessions are held during the evenings incorporating flatwork, jumping and cross country, normally throughout May until the end of August.
Competitions – We have been holding two Hunter Trials a year for a few years now, and an Open Show, any profits made during these competitions are ploughed back into the club to help improve our Cross Country Course at Frampton Court and to purchase essential items of equipment. We have spent thousands of pounds on the cross country course over the past four years and have bought three purchases of Jump for Joy show jumps and a few more and we now have a full set. Because of the difficulties in getting enough help it has been decided only to run one Hunter Trial in 2008 and unfortunately the date chosen for the Open Show clashed with the Area Horse Trials and as so many competitors and their back up teams were going to Broadway it was thought better to cancel the Show for lack of help, it had been hoped to run a competition in the Autumn however the weather put paid to that.
Members Only Competitions – We hold several members only competitions throughout the year, these include a two low-key dressage sessions, Spring and Autumn with a cup being given to the member with the biggest improvement, a Fun Day and an Indoor Show Jumping day. In 2009 we are hoping that maybe something new can be arranged.
Teams – There are both Junior and Senior team competitions where members represent the club at Area level. Frampton Family Riding Club is in Area 18, which includes clubs from Oxon, Worcs and Glos. There are separate Junior and Senior Team Managers who organise entries and collect fees. The Club sponsor the cost of pre-entries but team participants are asked to pay their Area entry fee, currently the club have a policy that anyone wanting to have a go are able but with the high demand the British Riding Clubs are now placing restrictions on how many teams we can enter for Area competitions, in the future we will be back to "the best" in the team. When individuals and teams qualify for Championships the club pay the entry fee, hire necessary stabling and give a small contribution to fuel costs.
A monthly newsletter is created and will be e mailed to all members with an e mail address but can be posted should members now have a PC, it can also be pulled from the website which is updated regularly. We are proud of our website, which although only basic it is kept, when necessary, up to date daily. If we want you to know something it will be posted on the relevant page or under "Stop Press" or both. Members are encouraged to use the web for information and e mail for contact.
