If you put your name forward for an Area Qualifier, payment must be made in full prior to the close of entries.  If you have to withdraw from the qualifier, refunds are not given as we are not able to obtain refunds from the area organisers, unless the event is cancelled.

Area 9 Dressage to Music Qualifiers

Saturday 19th June 2021

Open to Juniors and Seniors, Individuals Only.

***Please note, this qualifies for the BRC Dressage to Music Championships on 1st – 3rd October 2021 at Bury Farm Equestrian Club, Mill Road, Slapton, Leighton Buzzard.  LU7 9BT***

All competitors must be minimum current club members of BD unless in a pair where only one person needs to be a club member.  Competitors will then need to fill out the relevant licence form and return to BD.  This allows you to use any music from the record labels listed on the Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) repertoire list.  Tracks not listed cannot be used.  It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they hold the relevant licence and PPL stickers before competing.

Prelim Dressage to Music – Split Juniors/Seniors
Test: BD Prelim Freestyle to Music (2016)
Open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD prelim points and 0 BD points at Novice or above. Horses not to have competed in Elementary or above in the same competition year BD or BRC.  No horse to have been placed 1st – 3rd in DTM Novice or above (BD or BRC) in the current or previous calendar year.  Riders cannot have competed at BE Novice or Elementary Dressage or above in the current or previous calendar year BD or BRC.  Riders cannot have competed FEI dressage in the last 5 calendar years.

Novice Dressage to Music – 0 Points – Seniors Only
Test: BD Novice Freestyle to Music (2019)
Open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD prelim points and 0 BD points at Novice or above. Horses not to have competed in Elementary or above in the same competition year BD or BRC.  Riders cannot have competed at BE Novice or Elementary Dressage or above in the current or previous calendar year BD or BRC.  Riders cannot have competed FEI dressage in the last 5 calendar years.

Novice Dressage to Music – With Points – Split Juniors/Seniors

Test: BD Elementary Freestyle to Music (2019)
Open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD Elementary points, up to 35 Medium points and 0 BD points at Advanced Medium or above.  Riders cannot have competed FEI dressage in the last 5 calendar years.

Mixed Medium or Advanced Medium Dressage to Music PYO
Test: BD Medium Freestyle to Music (2016) or BD Advanced Medium Freestyle to Music (2016)
Medium DTM open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD Medium points, up to 35 total points at Advanced Medium or above.  Riders cannot have competed FEI dressage in the last 5 calendar years.
Advanced Medium DTM open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD Advanced Medium points, up to 50 total points at Advanced or above.

Novice Pairs Dressage to Music
Test: BRC Novice Pairs Dressage to Music (2018)
Open to horses/ponies with unlimited BD Novice points, up to 35 Elementary points and 0 BD points at Medium or above.  For a pair of riders made up of any combination of senior and junior members.  Horses and riders are expected to ride together side by side for at least 80% of the test.

Open Pairs Dressage to Music
Test: BRC Pairs Dressage to Music (2018)
For a pair of riders made up of any combination of senior and junior members using an Elementary level test.  Horses and riders are expected to ride together side by side for at least 80% of the test.

From 1st October all horses and ponies must be microchipped by law – any found not microchipped will be disqualified.

Area 9 Horse Trials Qualifiers

Open to Juniors and Seniors, Teams and Individuals

Restricted HT80 – (split Juniors/Seniors) for Teams and Individuals
Dressage: BE90 Dressage 91 (2009) – Open to horses with 0 BE points, horses may be registered with BE but must not have any BE points.  Not to have been placed in the top six at BE90 or to have completed a BE100 or above in the current or previous calendar year.  Riders not to have completed a BE100 or BRC HT100 or above in the current competition year.  Riders may not compete at 100 or above in the same qualifier or championship.  Riders not to have competed 2* or above in last 5 calendar years.

Individual Open HT80 – Mixed class of Junior & Senior Individuals
BE90 Dressage 91 (2009) – Open with no restrictions

HT90 – (split Juniors/Seniors) for Teams and Individuals
Dressage: BE90 Dressage 95 (2012) – Open to horses with a maximum of 1 BE point, horses may be registered with BE but must not have been placed in the top six at BE100 or to have completed a BE105 or above in the current or previous calendar year.  Riders not to have competed 2* or above in last 5 calendar years.

HT100 – Mixed class of Junior & Senior Teams and Individuals
Dressage: BE100 Dressage 101 (2009) – Open to horses with a maximum of 20 BE points, horses must not have completed a BE Novice or above in the current or previous calendar year.  Riders not to have competed 3* or above in last 5 calendar years.

HT100+ – Mixed class of Junior & Senior Teams and Individuals
Dressage: BE Nov Dressage 110 (2012) – No horse restrictions.  Riders must be 12 years old or over on 1 January in the year they wish to take part in the 100+.

Entry fees: £84.00 plus £10.00 on the day start fee

 Junior Intro Dressage – BD Intro C (2016) – Individuals only.
Open to horses with a maximum of 35 BD Prelim points and 0 points at Novice or above.  No BE points allowed and horses not to have competed in Novice or above in the current or previous competition year BD or BRC.  Riders cannot have competed at BE Novice or Novice dressage or above in the current or previous calendar year BD or BRC.

Junior Dressage – Prelim 7 (2002), Prelim 12 (2005), Prelim 18 (2002) or Novice 24 (2010)
Open to teams of 3 or 4 Juniors, each member of the team to ride a different test.  All tests are also open to junior individuals.  Open to horses with unlimited BD Prelim points, up to 35 Novice points and 0 points at Elementary or above. Horses cannot have competed in Elementary or above in the same competition year BD or BRC. 

Junior Elementary – Elementary 43 (2006) – Individuals only.
Open to horses with unlimited BD Elementary points, up to 35 Medium points and 0 points at Advanced Medium or bove.

Junior Pairs Dressage
Open to a pair of junior riders who must ride a test together. Open to horses with unlimited BD Elementary points, up to 35 Medium points and 0 points at Advanced Medium or above.

Junior Riding Test – Prelim 2 (2016)
Open to individuals or teams of 3 or 4 Juniors, each member of the team to ride the same test.
Open to horses with unlimited BD Prelim points, up to 35 Novice points and 0 points at Elementary or above. Riders cannot have competed at BE Novice or Novice dressage or above in the current or previous calendar year BD or BRC.

Mixed Pick a Test – Medium 69 (2005) or Advanced Medium 91 (2016) – Individuals only.
Open to Junior or Senior Individuals.
Medium test open to horses with unlimited BD Medium points, up to 35 total points at Advanced Medium or above.
Avanced Medium test open to horses with unlimited BD Advanced Medium points, up to 50 total points at Advanced or above.

Senior Riding Test – Prelim 13 (2006) or Novice 27 (2007)
Open to teams of 3 or 4 Seniors, 2 members of the team to ride the Prelim test and 2 members of the team to ride the Novice test..  All tests are also open to Senior individuals.
Prelim Riding test – open to horses with unlimited BD Prelim points, up to 35 Novice points and 0 points at Elementary or above. Riders cannot have competed at BE Novice or Elementary dressage or above in the current or previous calendar year BD or BRC.

 ***Horse/rider combinations are allowed to compete at 2 consecutive heights.****

70cm – Open to horses/ponies with no BE or BE foundation points and no BS points or BS Club points gained at 90cm or higher. Horses/ponies not to have completed a BRC HT90 or above in the same competition year. Horses/ponies may be registered with BE but must not have any BE points and not to have been placed in the top six at B90 or to have completed a BE100 or above in the current or previous calendar year. Riders not to have competed at under FEI rules for showjumping in the last 5 calendar years.

80cm – Open to horses/ponies with a maximum of 1 BE point and 75 BS points. Horses/ponies may be registered with BE but must not have any BE points and not to have been placed in the top six at BE100 or to have completed a BE105 or above in the current or previous calendar year. Riders not to have competed at under FEI rules for showjumping in the last 5 calendar years.

Mixed 80cm Open – Mixed class for individuals only.  No limits on eligibility

90cm – Open to horses/ponies with a maximum of 20 BE points and 500 BS points. Riders not to have competed at under FEI rules for showjumping in the last 5 calendar years.

Mixed 100cm – Open to teams of mixed juniors/seniors. Open to horses/ponies with a maximum of 60 BE points and 999 BS points. Riders not to have competed at under FEI rules for showjumping in the last 5 calendar years.

Mixed 110cm – Open to teams of mixed juniors/seniors.  No limits on eligibility

75cm Style Jumping – One round not against the clock, riders to be judged on the style of their riding.  Open to horses/ponies with no BE or BS points or BS Club points gained at 90cm or higher. Horses/ponies not to have completed a BRC HT90 or above in the same competition year. Horses/ponies may be registered with BE but must not have any BE points and not to have been placed in the top six at B90 or to have completed a BE100 or above in the current or previous calendar year. Riders not to have competed at under FEI rules for showjumping in the last 5 calendar years or gained their FBHS, BHSI or BHSII in the past 10 years.

85cm Style Jumping – One round not against the clock, riders to be judged on the style of their riding.  Open to horses/ponies with a maximum of 10 BE points and 225 BS points.

****PLEASE NOTE – NEW FORMAT TO AREA SHOWJUMPING QUALIFIERS****

Round 1 – not against the clock but will have a time allowed based on 325mpm
Round 2 – first half of the course not against the clock but will have a time allowed based on 325mpm. The second half of the course is the jump off. Everyone jumps off unless eliminated in the first half of the course.

The first round score and the second round (first half of course) will be combined to gain the total score.  The jump off section will only be used where there are ties for equality.
