I have received a tragic report from a Police Officer of the Road Policing Unit, that attended a recent incident.

A trailer containing two horses was being towed when the floor gave way. Both horses had to be destroyed after being towed along.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Can people check the floors of their trailers and lorries in particular when they have been stood for some time.

The officer goes on to say that this tragic incident occurred due to sheer negligence of the owner!

Suspicious Incident!!

Suspicious Circumstances:-

A recent incident has occurred at stables with land adjacent to the main A46 Highway. Fencing (barbed wire and stock fencing) has been deliberately cut from the top to bottom of the fencing near a wooden fence post. It appears that this was in preparation for rolling the wire back far enough  to allow  the horses to be led from the field direct into a trailer sited on the main road in the future.

Dear all,

Please be aware of the following details, should you have any similar incidents:-

At a riding school near Stroud, the owner was collecting some horses from his field and noticed that one of his ponies had an old saddle on, he also found a bridle on the floor.

The caller believes that someone had been attempting to ride the horse and was possibly disturbed and then fled the area.

It maybe that the offender was checking the horse out, prior to committing a further offence!

Please let me know if you have encountered any similar offences!
