MEMBERS:

Senior teams are now being run by Kelly Clack, Junior teams are being run jointly by Mel Glover and Kate Merrett.

THE 2012 TEAM FORM IS ON THE WEB SITE. To be eligible for teams, you must be willing to attend training sessions regularly and your horse must be fully vaccinated and have a passport.

For seniors, there is a new series of competitions run by Mercian group. You must be a (senior) Riding Club member (over 18) to compete. The Mercian competitions are TEAM only, no individual riding and are open to more grass roots competitors, with some lower jumping heights, including mini and walk and trot dressage covering all aspects of competition, we are waiting for confirmation that we can compete, but in the meantime, if you might like this, please fill in the appropriate boxes.

Please tick all boxes that interest you and return the form to the contact name at the bottom of the form either via email or post.

Calling all Team Chasers!

I’m looking to try and get some FFRC members together to start some team chasing teams for 2012, looking at Novice which is run on optimum times and the courses are roughly from 2’9 to 3’3 depending on the course and riders must be 12 or over, Intermediate which can be run either as an optimum time or fastest time and the courses are roughly 3’3 – 3’6 depending on course and riders must be 14 or over and then for the ultra brave there is the Open which is based on fastest time wins over a massive course which can be between 3’6 – 4’6 with only height restriction on fixed fences, hedges can be any height at some courses so this is certainly not for the faint hearted!!!  If anyone is interested please call Kelly on 07792 922490 or e-mail kclack@slb.com

Calling all dressage diva’s!

The senior team manager is now looking at the Area Novice Indoor Dressage Qualifier at Hartpury College on Saturday 11th February 2011.  This event is for teams only and each team consists of 4 riders, 2 riders will ride Prelim 18 and the other 2 riders will ride Novice 24.  We will be holding various training sessions in the evenings during the week and on weekends during January and February in preparation for this competition, more details to follow.  If you would like to be considered for the dressage teams can you please contact Kelly Clack on 07792 922490 or e-mail kclack@slb.com by 10th January so we can get a good idea of numbers

Attention Team Managers:

As we are about to start another year of competitions it may be time that if anyone wishes to get the appropriate downgrading to do it now.

I have therefore copied the relevant section from BRC website to help you should any of your members wish to apply for downgrading.
Downgrading Form
From 1 January 2011 BRC changed the rules regarding downgrading for BRC competitions. As a result of feedback from our members we have decided that anyone who would like to downgrade their horse for BRC competitions can complete a downgrading form and support it with an accompanying letter explaining why they wish to downgrade their horse. We will be looking at each application on a case by case basis, taking into consideration the horse and riders age, past achievements, injuries and current levels of performance. Downgrading officially re-opens on 26 September. Forms are available in Word and PDF. For any queries regarding downgrading please contact Rachael r.hollely@bhs.org.uk 02476 840597

If you would like to be considered for any teams please return the forms to the relevant team managers A.S.A.P. with FLU  VAC  COPIES for each discipline you are interested in.  Or email team managers your scanned flu vac certs.

There are lots of competitions, but a quick run down is:
Indoor Dressage, Novice Dressage (prelim tests), Riding Test, Open dressage, Indoor and outdoor Show jumping, Horse Trials, Eventers (FOH) challenge (show jumping and XC combined), Horse Trials, Dressage to music, Pairs dressage and quadrille.  All these competitions are held at Area qualifiers and winners go on to represent our Area at Championships.
